Richard Sherman’s wife Ashley Moss has come out and told the Seattle Times that no one was harmed in the cornerback’s arrest on domestic violence charges.

Former Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman is making headlines on Wednesday, but for all the wrong reasons. Local authorities in the Seattle area announced that Sherman was arrested on domestic violence charges at around 2 a.m. Pacific time.

Sherman tried entering the home of a family member forcefully and tried fighting the cops when they arrived, the police report states. Now, however, Sherman’s wife Ashley Moss has come out and told The Seattle Times that no one was harmed.

“At this time we’re going to make no statements, except he didn’t harm anybody,” Moss told Seahawks beat writer Bob Condotta. “My kids were not harmed in the incident. He’s a good person and this is not his character. We’re doing all right, just trying to get him out. I want people to know no one was injured.”

In addition to this domestic abuse case, Sherman is also being investigated for a hit-and-run incident. Per Washington State Police, Sherman may be a suspect in a one-car accident where a vehicle struck a concrete barrier and then took off.

For Moss, though, she is quick to make it clear that Sherman didn’t harm anyone in this unfortunate incident and that the family’s kids are safe and sound. Sherman remains behind bars at the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle. He’ll be there until he’s able to meet with a judge, which won’t be until Thursday at the earliest.

Throughout the offseason, the veteran defensive back has been eyeing a new NFL contract, as he’s currently a free agent following three seasons with the 49ers. He made a huge name for himself while with the Seahawks, helping the team win the Super Bowl back in February of 2014.

Now, however, plenty of negative attention is being brought to Sherman due to his arrest. Fans can expect plenty more updates out of The Emerald City from this case in the coming days.
