The Auburn football program is using Joe Burrow’s Heisman Trophy in their recruiting graphics.

Even if the Auburn football program has a bitter rivalry with the Bayou Bengals, why are the Tigers using LSU football legend Joe Burrow‘s Heisman Trophy in an embarrassing recruiting graphic?

Yes, that appears to be the case in this Auburn recruiting graphic for four-star offensive lineman Jacob Hood. While Auburn is one of the five schools the Nashville native is seriously looking at for 2022, why are the Tigers using an LSU player’s Heisman Trophy to entice an offensive line prospect? Auburn has three Heisman winners in its history, so why not use one of them instead?

You will need to zoom in a bit to see in fact this is Burrow’s Heisman Trophy being used by Auburn.

Auburn football program uses Joe Burrow’s Heisman Trophy in recruiting graphic

While Burrow is entering his season NFL season with the Cincinnati Bengals, we have to wonder what he thinks about this or if he even knows about this. Burrow had arguably the greatest single-season out of any player in college football history back in 2019. Another player whose historic season rivals that is Cam Newton’s Heisman Trophy-winning season of 2010. So use that one!

There are three Heismans on the Auburn campus. Newton’s from 2010, Bo Jackson’s from 1985 and the late Pat Sullivan’s from 1971. One would think those would be very easy to take pictures of to potentially build a graphic around like this. Instead, Auburn cut corners and is paying a price for it on social media. Maybe using the airbrush feature would have done the trick as well here?

It might mean more down south, but you cannot use another school’s Heisman like it is your own.
