NFL superstar and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes wasn’t a fan of Quandre Diggs’ shot at his alma mater.

Before Patrick Mahomes took the NFL world by storm with the Kansas City Chiefs, he was an exceptional quarterback at Texas Tech University. The former Red Raider loves his alma mater, making sure he supports and reps his school any chance he gets. Unfortunately, the university’s basketball program took a huge loss recently, as their coach Chris Beard left to join their bitter rivals — the Texas Longhorns.

The bad blood between Texas Tech and Texas never stops, as alumni still battle over their respective schools. Former Longhorn Quandre Diggs loves what Beard is already doing with his alma mater’s basketball program and went to Twitter to commend him.

Mahomes also saw the tweet, and it looks like he is still trying to cope with Beard’s departure from Texas Tech.

Patrick Mahomes is speechless after Quandre Diggs’ jab at Texas Tech.

Chris Beard has only been the Texas Longhorns basketball coach for a few months, but he is already making an impact. His ability to decipher the game and teach his player the X’s and O’s is what made him a prime candidate for the university. His ability to recruit top talent is another reason why the school hired him. Those recruiting skills are paying off, as Beard just secured one of the nation’s best players on Saturday.

Marcus Carr, America’s No. 1 transfer in college basketball this offseason, committed to attending Texas Saturday. His commitment is the seventh recruit Beard has been able to get since joining the Longhorns, per The Spun. Former Texas student and current Seattle Seahawks player Quandre Diggs heard the news and is excited about what Beard is doing to start his tenure at the university. He also made sure to mention Mahomes in his tweet.

Seeing the amount of success Beard is having on the recruiting tour must be hard for Mahomes or any Red Raider fan to see. The former NFL MVP offered what might be the perfect reaction to Diggs’ tweet. He tweeted a picture of a boy crying, symbolizing how he feels about Beard’s departure from Texas Tech.

Mahomes might not be a student at Texas Tech anymore, but he is a diehard supporter of his alma mater. He is still feeling the pain of Chris Beard’s departure from the school, and Quandre Diggs just poured salt on that wound.
