For the first time in Olympics history, skateboarding was added as a competition and there’s been a lot of action so far.

Skateboarding is making its Olympics debut this summer in Tokyo and the competitions have not disappointed thus far.

Kicking off the start of their skating competitions on Saturday, contestants showed off a mix of different skills and tricks in the venues designed after different skate parks around the world.

Olympics skateboarder has epic wipeout

It wasn’t all pretty, specifically for this contest who took a fall in quite possibly the worst of spots and positions to wipe out.

Do skaters wear cups? If not, they might want to consider after seeing that.

Regardless, those are the types of wipeouts these professionals are accustomed to in their practice at skate parks and around different areas of cities.

Four-time World Skateboarding Champion Nyjah Huston explained it’s easy to get injured skating in efforts to take risks. That combined with the pressure of performing makes for potentially amazing tricks, but epic wipeouts as well.
