Philadelphia Phillies trade for Pittsburgh Pirates lefty Tyler Anderson

The Philadephia Phillies have added an arm at the deadline, trading for Pirates lefty Tyler Anderson on Tuesday.
With the MLB trade deadline just days away, teams are starting to fire up deals to get ahead of the rush.
One of those teams is the Philadelphia Phillies.
According to FanSided’s MLB insider Robert Murray, the Pirates are in talks to trade starting pitcher Tyler Anderson to the Phillies. Preferably a deal will get done before Tuesday night’s game that Anderson is slated to start.

If a deal isn’t done by the time first pitch rolls around, Anderson is expected to start. It sounds like a deal could get done before then, perhaps with another team other than Philly.
The Mets have been rumored to be interested in Anderson, and a report on Tuesday stating that the Nationals would not be trading Max Scherzer to New York may motivate the team to find a starter elsewhere.
Trading for Anderson gives the Phillies another solid starting arm to add to its rotation, something that was a goal for them ahead of the deadline on Friday. But the question is will they stop with the acquisition of Anderson or pursue more help as the Phillies make a push toward the postseason.
One name that has been dangled in rumors is Jose Berrios, the Twins ace who is available but at a steep price. Philly would reportedly need to outbid the Dodgers and Padres, as well as a handful of other unnamed teams that are supposedly engaged in talks with Minnesota.
Scherzer could be an option for the Phillies, but once again a steep asking price will be presented in any trade talks.
