In the first episode of ‘Hard Knocks,’ Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott shared the news that he actually underwent two surgeries on his seriously-injured ankle.

It’s been quite the comeback for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The images of him being carted off the field with tears in his eyes due to his fractured ankle remain fresh. And despite suffering a shoulder injury at camp, Prescott is ready for Week 1 to get here.

As it turns out, his road back from his fractured ankle was much more difficult than we imagined. In the first episode of HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ this week, Prescott said that he underwent two surgeries and that no one really knew about it.

The Cowboys really kept things under wraps here didn’t they. Prescott said that he was getting himself mentally ready to get his rehab going after the first surgery. Unfortunately for him, things didn’t heal as he thought they would, which resulted in home going under the knife for a second time.

As frustrating as that might have been, Prescott eventually was able to work his butt off in his rehab in order to make sure he was ready for the start of training camp. He has had to battle his minor shoulder injury, but that hasn’t slowed down his focus on preparing for Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After signing his four-year, $160 million contract extension, the pressure is on for Prescott to step up and be the leader of America’s Team. Winning the NFC East and having Dallas ball out in the postseason would certainly get plenty of people off his back. Prescott is an easy guy to root for and Cowboys fans can’t wait to see what he’ll be able to do against Tom Brady and the Bucs.
