The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed Jarrod Dyson off waivers from the Kansas City Royals.

Jarrod Dyson has found a new home north of the border with the Toronto Blue Jays.

According to FanSided MLB insider Robert Murray, the Blue Jays claimed Dyson off waivers from the Royals.

The Blue Jays got Dyson for his baserunning and defense.

Blue Jays add Jarrod Dyson off waivers for the playoff chase

Prior to being waived by the Royals, Dyson was hitting .211 with a .576 OPS. He stole eight bases out of 11 attempts. He has 264 career stolen bases and a .647 OPS for his career that’s spanned 12 years.

Dyson can play all three outfield positions, but centerfield is his best position and where he’s played the bulk of his innings.

The Blue Jays are 5.5 games back of the final Wild Card spot in the American League.
