The Arkansas Razorbacks’ Twitter account roasted the Texas Longhorns following their 40-21 victory on Saturday night.

The Texas Longhorns were riding high following their 38-18 win over the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns last week. Many dubbed that the Longhorns were indeed back and ready to contend. The Arkansas Razorbacks told those individuals to pump the brakes and to temper their expectations.

On Saturday, the Razorbacks defeated the Longhorns 40-21 to give their eventual SEC colleagues a warm welcome. Arkansas football’s official Twitter account did just that, while even burying the Longhorns six feet under by using the popular “not this time” meme.

Texas is set to join the SEC alongside the Oklahoma Sooners once the Big 12 media rights deal expires in 2025. Considering they will be conference mates in the very near future, the Razorbacks were the first team to give the Longhorns a humbling welcome.

Arkansas entered halftime with a 16-0 lead before extending it to as high as 33-7 in the third quarter. Credit can be given to the Razorbacks’ running game, as they accumulated a staggering 333 yards and four touchdowns on 47 carries.

Meanwhile it was a game to forget for Texas quarterback Hudson Card, as he completed 8-of-15 passes for 61 yards.

All of Arkansas’ remaining opponents for the season, you better hope you win. If not, the football program’s social media team will be ready to hit the tweet button with their memes.
