The Florida Gators are looking to defeat the Alabama Crimson Tide for the first time in over a decade.

After winning the CFP National Championship last season, the Alabama Crimson Tide are looking to run it back in 2021. After dominating Miami and Mercer, the Crimson Tide faced off against the No. 11 Florida Gators on Saturday.

That left many fans who love to root against Alabama wondering when the last time Florida defeated them?

When was the last time Florida beat Alabama in football?

The last time the Gators beat the Crimson Tide was back in 2008. In the SEC Championship Game, Florida, led by Tim Tebow, won by the score of 31-20. Tebow completed 14-of-21 passes for 216 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions while rushing for 57 yards and 17 carries. For his performance, Tebow was named MVP of the SEC title game.

Shortly after this victory, the Gators moved on to defeat the Oklahoma Sooners 24-14 to win the BCS National Championship.

Since SEC title game, Florida has gone 0-7 against Alabama. That streak began in the 2009 SEC Championship Game, which Alabama won by the score of 32-13. The Crimson Tide then defeated the Texas Longhorns 37-21 to win the National Championship.

Will Florida’s losing streak end? Or will the Crimson Tide pick up their eight-consecutive win?
