Look: Nick Saban was downright pissed Alabama only beat Ole Miss by 21

Nick Saban’s Alabama football team blew away Ole Miss, but the head coach was still irate on the sideline while up by 21 points.

The thing that makes Nick Saban great is being furious on the sideline during a blowout victory.

Alabama welcomed the Ole Miss Rebels to Bryant-Denny Stadium and gave them a whooping. The Crimson Tide led 28-10 going into halftime.

However, Ole Miss outscored Alabama in the second half and Saban’s sideline reactions showed just how unhappy he was about that.

After the game, Saban told reporters he wanted to see his team close out more strongly.

“If there’s a negative in the game, we’ve gotta learn how to finish the game. We didn’t finish the game the way we’d like,” Saban said per Charlie Potter of 247Sports. “…But it’s a great win.”

Indeed it was a great win in a long line of great wins by the Crimson Tide and Saban specifically. He improved to 24-0 against his former assistants by besting Lane Kiffin.

A win over Ole Miss, even with the Rebels highly ranked, doesn’t mean anything if the Crimson Tide don’t address all their mistakes whenever they come. A pass interference late in a blowout might not be costly, but it could be late in a tight matchup. That’s what Saban is looking ahead to.

The thing is, the Tide seem to get better and better while everyone else in college football can’t keep pace. Next week they’ll get another test against Texas A&M. Maybe they’ll need to truly finish in that one. Saban doesn’t look like he wants to take any chances.
