Projecting the AP Top 25 college football rankings for Week 11 after Michigan State fell on the road to Purdue.

Another week of the college football season is in the books as we inch closer to bowl season and ultimately the College Football Playoff. The first CFP ranking is in the books and as things inch closer to the end, the AP Top 25 college football rankings tends to reflect what the playoff rankings do as well.

The big loser this week was Michigan State. The Spartans suffered a fate Iowa did earlier this season as they lost to perennial spoiler Purdue. There will be a change to the rankings that likely shifts Ohio State in.

The volatility in the Top 25 wasn’t as strong this week after last week saw nine ranked teams go down. Here’s how the AP Top 25 should project going into this one.

Projected AP Top 25 college football rankings after Week 10: No. 25-21

25. Arkansas Razorbacks

It’s undoubtedly been an uneven season for the Hogs but Arkansas had a big opportunity to knock off a Mississippi State team ranked inside the top 20 of the first CFP rankings and they delivered a convincing win. That should be enough to get them back into the AP Top 25.

24. Purdue Boilermakers

There has to be some love shown toward the Boilermakers’ way. At 6-3, Purdue now has wins over No. 2 Iowa and No. 3 Michigan State this season. They love to play the role of spoilers and have to massive wins for the program this season.

23. Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns

Louisiana took care of business at home this past Thursday against Georgia State. They should remain in the AP rankings. Perhaps they stay exactly right where they are or maybe gain a spot if they’re lucky.

22. NC State Wolfpack

The Wolfpack should find their way back just inside the Top 25 this week after defeating Florida State on the road. NC State is 7-2 on the season and is hoping they can upset Wake Forest in a massive road game on tap.

21. Auburn Tigers

The Auburn experience has been a roller coaster. After a big win over Ole Miss, the Tigers responded with just three points against Texas A&M. That will probably drop Auburn a bit in the rankings.
