Michigan attorney general Dana Nessel has apologized for tailgating a little too hard at the Michigan-Michigan State football game.

Dana Nessel isn’t alone in going to a college football tailgate and getting a little too festive. She wasn’t the first to drink a little too much and she won’t be the last.

Nessel apologized and had a little fun at her expense after she had a little too much to drink on an empty stomach for the Michigan-Michigan State game at the end of October.

On her Facebook, Nessel posted a photo of her slouched over in her seat at Spartan Stadium with her Michigan hat covering her face.

It’s something many people could relate to.

Nessel said she had two Bloody Marys during the tailgate party, but her mistake was not eating breakfast, after all, it’s the most important meal of the day, and that led to her being a little too drowsy toward the time the football game arrived.

“I proceeded to go to the game … and started to feel ill. I laid low for a while, but my friends recommended that I leave so as to prevent me from vomiting on any of my constituents,” Nessel wrote.

Chalk it up to a rookie mistake not to eat some bacon and eggs, or at least, a bowl of fruit before heading out to the tailgate.

Nessel said she wasn’t driving home and admitted she screwed up.

“I am human. Sometimes I screw up,” she said. “This was definitely one of those times. My apologies to the entire state of Michigan for this mishap, but especially that Michigan fan sitting behind me. Some things you can’t un-see.”
