When’s the last time Ohio State lost a Big Ten game?

For the first time since 2018, Ohio State football has lost a Big Ten game, the first in Ryan Day’s tenure.

For the first time since 2011, Michigan beat Ohio State football. This is the first win for Jim Harbaugh since taking over as the Michigan head coach, snapping a personal five-game losing streak to the Buckeyes.

The loss by the Buckeyes is also the first Big Ten loss for the Buckeyes since Oct. 20, 2018, when they lost 55-20 to Purdue.

Ohio State loses first Big Ten game since 2018

Many fans may remember that as the game Tyler Trent introduced himself to the college football universe. The Purdue student who was battling cancer served as an incredible motivational force that led to the upset and kept Ohio State out of the playoff that year.

Since then, Ohio State has won 29 straight Big Ten games. Their lone losses were in the College Football Playoff to Clemson and Alabama, respectively.

All streaks come to an end at some point, but this one is going to take a long time for Ohio State fans to recover.

The loss is bad enough that it came at the hands of Michigan, but their winning streak over the Wolverines is over and so is their hope of winning the Big Ten and getting back to the College Football Playoff.
