Alabama quarterback Bryce Young won the 2021 Heisman Trophy, and the voting results show it was not even close.

The field was set for the 2021 Heisman Trophy ceremony on Saturday, as Alabama’s Bryce Young, Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett were all vying for the votes. Ultimately, it ended as many expected, with Young hoisting the Heisman. But what were the final results?

Ralph D. Russo of the Associated Press tweeted out the voting results, and Young won the award with 684 first-place votes, netting him a total of 2,344 points. You can take a look at the final voting results in Russo’s tweet below.

Heisman Trophy voting results 2021: Alabama’s Bryce Young wins

Young winning was not a surprise, considering the stats he put up on the year and his stellar end to the season. Defeating the top team in the nation in Georgia in the SEC Championship Game was basically the dagger for Young to clinch college football’s prestigious award.

Young completed 68.0-percent of his passes for 4,322 yards, 43 touchdowns and four interceptions on the year.

Hutchinson received the second-most first-place votes with 78. Most impressively, however, the Michigan edge rusher garnered the most Heisman Trophy votes by any defensive player since Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o in 2012.

After putting up 14 sacks on the year and helping leading Michigan to their first Big Ten Championship Game victory, Hutchinson has helped raised his NFL Draft stock as a potential first-overall pick.

To the victor go the spoils, and Young now holds the distinction of being the only quarterback in Alabama history to win the Heisman.
