Wrestling fans were stunned that Brock Lesnar defeated Big E at Day 1 to win the WWE Championship on Saturday.

Plans changed at the Day 1 event on Saturday after it was revealed that Universal Champion Roman Reigns was pulled from the show after he tested positive for COVID-19. Reigns’ scheduled opponent, Brock Lesnar, was added to the WWE Championship Fatal Four-Way match between Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley.

In that match, Lesnar won the WWE Championship after hitting Big E with the F-5. To say that fans were stunned by the result of the main event is an understatement, as it left many wondering what is going to happen next with WrestleMania 38 on the horizon.

Big E’s title reign comes to an end after over three months, as he won it from Lashley on the Sept. 13 edition of Monday Night Raw.

This end result does have fans and viewers wondering what the plan is for here. Lesnar was in a feud with Reigns and he is now WWE Champion. Is a title versus title match in the cards for WrestleMania 38?

Yet, at the end of the main event, Lesnar had a stare-down with Lashley. Will the dream match finally happen? And when would that take place?

One thing is for certain, there was added intrigue to the next episode of Raw this Monday. From there, the 2022 edition of the Royal Rumble takes place on Saturday, Jan. 29, in St. Louis, MO.
