The head coaching debut for Marcus Freeman is in the Fiesta Bowl with Notre Dame taking on Oklahoma State who was a yard shy of potentially making the College Football Playoff.

Notre Dame was the first team out of the College Football Playoff and it’s been nothing but drama since Selection Sunday. Former head coach Brian Kelly up and left the team to take the job at LSU in a stunning move that left everyone shaking their heads. But Notre Dame made the wise move to promote defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman in a decision that was widely praised nationally and by Notre Dame players and fans alike.

Freeman’s debut comes in the Fiesta Bowl against Mike Gundy’s Oklahoma State Cowboys who lost the Big 12 championship by one yard in the game vs. Baylor and their chance of making the College Football Playoff.
