Roman Reigns was scheduled to fight Brock Lesnar at WWE Day 1 but tested positive for COVID-19 and will be out for the PPV.

WWE Day 1 was supposed to kick off the pro wrestling year in 2022 with some big-time matches, one of which was a huge bout between WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

However, the event that has already been changed a bit due to the COVID-19 outbreak within the company has now taken an even bigger hit.

The day of the pay-per-view on Saturday, Roman Reigns has tested positive for COVID-19 and as such will be off the card and won’t fight at WWE Day 1.

Reigns is reportedly vaccinated but, given the COVID policies within the company, he will not be able to compete.

This positive test comes after numerous WWE superstars were pulled off of house shows and Raw either due to testing or out of an abundance of caution to try and maintain the integrity of the PPV event.

Obviously, losing a main event performer is going to dramatically change things, most notably for Lesnar and his plans for the show.

WWE Day 1: Who will Brock Lesnar fight with Roman Reigns out?

According to Helwani, Brock Lesnar will now compete in the WWE Championship match for Big E’s title and make it a Fatal 5-Way match as he’ll now join Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley as the competitors.

We shall see what other repercussions stem from Reigns testing positive, especially at such a late hour with the show beginning quite soon.
