New Japan Pro Wrestling’s biggest event of the year, Wrestle Kingdom 16, will take place across three nights on Jan. 4-5, 8.

This week is set to be huge in the pro wrestling world. WWE Day 1 has come and gone, AEW is set to debut on TBS on Jan. 5 and Impact Wrestling is holding their Hard to Kill pay per view event on Jan. 8. But perhaps the biggest event of the year will be New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 16.

The annual event will be split across three nights. The night one main event will feature IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi defending his title against “Rain Maker” Kazuchika Okada. But then, the winner of that match will move onto Night Two, where they will defend the Heavyweight Championship versus Will Ospreay.

Wrestle Kingdom 16’s card is loaded and could potentially be the best event of the entire 2022 calendar year in pro wrestling. Here is everything you need to know about NJPW’s huge show.
