Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is spreading the message among teammates that it’s time to become legends in the playoffs.

The Cowboys were the most successful NFL franchise of the 1990s but the last two decades have been considerably barren by comparison.

Dallas has won three playoff games this century as they’ve searched for the right mix of players to take them back to the promised land.

If this is the year for the Cowboys, you can bet rookie linebacker Micah Parsons will have a part to play in it.

Micah Parsons is ready to become a Cowboys playoff legend

Parsons has been a difference-maker from Day 1. He’s talking like one when it comes to the playoffs.

During an appearance on The Pivot podcast with Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder, Parsons shared an example of his mindset going into the postseason.

At the end of the regular season, Parsons texted teammate Trevon Diggs and said, “Bro, we just became stars and that’s cool, but… now we become legends. This is where legends (are) made.”

Parsons already has a Pro Bowl and All-Pro nod to his name in his first season in the NFL. He’s started 16 games with 13 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, 30 QB hits and 84 total tackles. His influence couldn’t have been much bigger.

However, he understands that regular-season performance is just a rehearsal for the games that are do-or-die.

On Sunday, he’ll get his first taste of that feeling as the Cowboys host the 49ers. It’ll be the biggest game of his career up to this point and he knows it.
