As the Minnesota Vikings try to replace head coach Mike Zimmer, they could find their answer from the staff of the rival Packers.

On the heels of several disappointing seasons, the Minnesota Vikings decided to turn the page onto the next chapter of the organization by letting head coach Mike Zimmer go in addition to firing general manager Rick Spielman. Thus, the search has been on for the next head coach.

And it seems as if they might be trying to not only help their own cause but also take a key figure from one of their biggest rivals: the Green Bay Packers.

The Vikings completed their interview with Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett on Monday and you have to believe he’ll be a leading candidate to get the job in Minnesota. After all, this is a guy that even Aaron Rodgers has spoken highly of, which is not a given considering his relationship with many people in Green Bay.

Vikings could steal Nathaniel Hackett from Packers

As mentioned by Will Ragatz, Hackett has eight years of experience as an NFL offensive coordinator throughout his career.

He’s spent the last three seasons with the Packers but previously had stints with the Jaguars (when they had a much better offense than they should have with Blake Bortles) and Bills.

With the success of his offenses throughout his career, the prospect of what Hackett could do with the loaded Vikings offense should be an enticing notion for fans to consider. While Minnesota will undoubtedly have other quality options that they interview, the outsider’s perspective certainly says that the Packers OC should be among the names at the top of the list.
