Brian Flores’ class-action lawsuit against the NFL reveals several disturbing details.

Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores dropped a bombshell on Tuesday afternoon with his class-action lawsuit against the NFL.

Flores is suing the league for racial discrimination for its hiring practices. This comes about over him being passed over by the New York Giants for their head-coaching vacancy that went to former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. While Daboll did not do any wrong, the Giants are in hot water for allegedly having tabbed him as their guy before interviewing Flores.

Here is the lawsuit in full for those who want to see everything that Flores is suing the NFL over.

Brian Flores sues NFL: 3 most devastating details from class-action lawsuit

3. John Elway, Joe Ellis showing up to his Denver Broncos interview hungover

Flores alleges Denver Broncos front office executives John Elway and Joe Ellis showed up to his head-coaching interview in 2019 an hour late, completely disheveled and hungover.

It was clear to Flores he was only being interviewed for the job to suffice the Rooney Rule. The Broncos’ vacancy went to Vic Fangio, who the Broncos have since fired and replaced him with Nathaniel Hackett.

2. Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross paying for Brian Flores to lose games

During Flores’ first year leading Miami, he alleges Dolphins owner Stephen Ross would pay him $100,000 for every loss accumulated in the 2019 NFL season. Miami went 5-11 that year and missed out on the No. 1 overall pick. Though they still ended up with the No. 5 overall pick, this is evidence that Miami was actively tanking that season, but Flores was not in line with that notion.

1. New England Patriots head coach confusing him with Brian Daboll over texts

Of course, this is the biggest bombshell of all. Apparently, the Giants had already made up their mind before they were going to interview Flores. Evidence of this comes from Flores’ former boss in New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick confusing him with the other Brian assistant Daboll. Flores had to sit there during the interview knowing days beforehand the Giants’ decision.

By suing the NFL, Flores may have sacrificed his coaching career. However, he may be the one to do the NFL a world of good if his lawsuit does go to trial and he ends up winning his case.
