Bobby Lashley injury: WWE Champion removed from Elimination Chamber with concussion

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was removed from the Elimination Chamber match due to being placed in “concussion protocol.”

Bobby Lashley entered Jeddah, Saudi Arabia looking to defend his WWE Championship at the Elimination Chamber event. He had to step inside the Chamber and face Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, A.J. Styles, Riddle and Austin Theory with the hope of walk into WrestleMania 38 as champion.

During the match, Lashley was standing inside his pod when Rollins power-bombed Theory into it. As a result, the plexiglass of the pod hit Lashley. Here is a video of what happened.

Bobby Lashley injury: Elimination Chamber match loses champ after ‘concussion’

After being looked at by medical personnel and removed from the Chamber, it was revealed that he was removed from the match due to being placed in “concussion protocol.”

The company’s official Twitter account revealed that entered protocol and that he will “travel back to the United States under medical supervision to undergo additional evaluation.”

Lesnar ultimately won the match to regain the championship by last pinning Theory, setting up a Champion vs. Champion match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38.

UPDATE: Former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide appeared on “The Ringer Wrestling Show” after the Elimination Chamber event and revealed that Lashley is legitimately hurt dating back to his WWE Championship match against Lesnar at Royal Rumble. Famuyide notes that Lashley needs shoulder surgery and could be sidelined for at least four months, which could cause him to miss WrestleMania 38.
