The NFL offseason has officially begun, and there will be endless speculation as to what happens with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. There is the possibility that he could stay with the Green Bay Packers, or there’s a chance that he could request a trade to another team. With the latter scenario, ther has been endless trade offers to send him to other teams.

Shan Shariff of 105.3 The Fan in Dallas proposed a trade during the Shan and R.J. show, proposing that the Packers trade Rodgers to the Cowboys in exchange for Dak Prescott. You can listen to Shariff’s proposal at the link above, and it takes place at the 4:00 minute mark of the video.

That would certainly be a crazy swap of quarterbacks if this deal were to go down.

Rodgers is coming off a strong 2021 regular-season that netted him his second-consecutive NFL MVP award and his fourth overall. His play helped the Packers clinch the top seed in the NFC, but they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round. After the game, Rodgers said that he will take some time to make a decision regarding his future. Upon winning the MVP, Rodgers reiterated that stance.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers are ready to spend as much money as possible to help convince Rodgers return for another season. That strategy will certainly require some cap maneuverability, as Green Bay is $48 million over the cap, per Spotrac.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are coming off of a season where they were expected to make a deep run in the playoffs. Their run was short lived, as they were eliminated in the Wild Card Round by the 49ers. You can never count out team owner Jerry Jones, who is never afraid to make a big splash move. Even so, would the Cowboys even try to pursue Rodgers, since they just signed Prescott to a huge contract extension last season?
