Jaylen Brown was ruled out of the Boston Celtics’ game against the Atlanta Hawks after injuring his right ankle.

The Boston Celtics looked to rebound from their 128-107 loss to the Indiana Pacers with a win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. Unfortunately for Boston, they lost one of their star players early on in the game.

In the first quarter, Jaylen Brown drove to the basket but when he reached the paint, he fell on the floor in pain. Video replay showed that when Brown took a step, his right foot bent awkwardly.

Brown was able to put pressure on his foot as he walked to the locker room, but he was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the game with what was described as a right ankle sprain.

Celtics: Jaylen Brown leaves game with right ankle sprain

In this very game, Hawks star Trae Young briefly left the game with a left ankle sprain after attempting a three-point shot at the end of the first-quarter. The injury was not too serious, as Young returned later in the game.

For the game, Brown made his lone shot for two points, one rebound and one assist in three minutes of playing time.

On the year, Brown is averaging 23.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 46.2-percent from the field and 34.8-percent from the three-point line.

The Celtics went on to defeat the Hawks 107-98. Jayson Tatum scored 33 points (12-for-25 from field, 3-for-10 from three-point line), grabbed eight rebounds and recorded seven assists in 39 minutes.

Celtics fans will obviously be waiting for an update on Brown to see if he will miss any time due to the ankle sprain.
