With the NFL Draft right around the corner, could the Pittsburgh Steelers end up going after Kenny Pickett to be their signal-caller of the future?

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are in need of a new quarterback to take over for Ben Roethlisberger following his incredible career. Could the next guy in line to run the show be former Pitt Panthers standout Kenny Pickett?

Pickett has been linked to the Steelers for a while now. With the NFL Combine taking place this week, Steelers fans are ready to see what the quarterback can do. Leading up to things, Pickett has raised plenty of eyebrows by revealing he’s met with the Steelers multiple times already.

Steelers fans are hoping the team drafts Kenny Pickett

That’s certainly exciting news for the Pittsburgh faithful, but some dominoes will need to fall for Pickett to still be on the board for the Steelers to snatch him. Pittsburgh holds the No. 20 overall pick in the draft, and Pickett will be long gone by then.

The Washington Commanders are also in need of a new signal-caller and they hold the No. 11 overall pick. Multiple mock drafts have Washington taking Pickett. If Pittsburgh likes Pickett enough, they could try and trade up and get him that way.

It’s fair to say Pickett is intrigued about the idea of suiting up at Heinz Field, and Tomlin is a big reason why. In Indianapolis, Pickett said he’s been able to develop a strong bond with the Steelers head coach since his freshman year at Pitt.

The NFL Draft truly can’t get here soon enough. Pickett will find out where he’s heading come April 28, with countless people in Pittsburgh hoping he’ll make his way to the Steelers.
