Chris Nikic is now the proud owner of his own home and car, and is loving life with his girlfriend as he continues to train for another IRONMAN later this year.

There are few people in life you can meet that are as impressive as Chris Nikic.

Nikic is the first person with Down syndrome to complete an IRONMAN (2.4 mile swim, 112-mile bike, 26.22-mile run ) and is working on an encore performance later this year. Nikic will also run both the New York and Boston Marathon in 2022 for good measure.

Nikic wants you to know in a new video presented by Special Olympics, where he works as a Champion Ambassador, that he is “even more than that.”

The inspirational 10-minute video starts out with Nikic running before the sun comes up giving a glimpse at what it takes to complete an Ironman. Only a running and swimming enthusiast would get excited by the predawn workout on the road and in the water.

Nikic continues to live his life trying to get 1% better each day. He has spoken across the country influencing countless others to try and do the same. The impact is immeasurable on parents, people with Down syndrome and everyone else who comes across Nikic’s message. He owns his own house, car and yes Nikic has a girlfriend and wants to get married someday. His 1% percent better mantra turned into two or three speaking opportunities each week from corporations that is paying the bills.

Next up, Nikic wants to continue to be a successful business man, become an even more famous public speaker and  have his own money to take care of his family. He even wants to have his own “one percent soup brand.” Trying to be your best each day has to taste good!

Word to the wise, do not bet against Nikic. Whatever his full potential is, you can be sure Nikic will do everything in his power to reach it doing everything he can to “disprove the word impossible.”

Happy World Down Syndrome Day. Thank you, Chris.
