James Harden has been critiqued many times for being out of shape and now a recent report has revealed that Kevin Durant had a problem with Harden’s shape too.

It has been reported that the Brooklyn Nets’ former big three of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden were not on the best of terms for most of the season. That was partly due to Irving’s part-time play but recent reports state the tension between Harden and Durant started during training camp.

According to a report released by ESPN’s Kevin Arnovitz, Durant was not happy with Harden’s lack of conditioning.

"“Durant was astonished in the opening weeks of the season at Harden’s lack of explosiveness and sluggish play, something he attributed in large part to Harden’s being out of shape, as he did the ensuing hamstring issues,” Arnovitz reported Tuesday."

This is not the first time, someone has spoken about Harden’s weight. When Harden was a part of the Houston Rockets his appearance would often be the topic of discussion. And sometimes it was attributed to his poor play on the court, via For the Win.

James Harden and Kevin Durant never resolved their issues

According to Arnovitz’s report, Harden did not care about Durant’s view on his conditioning. He considered it self-righteous.

Arnovitz also reported that Harden and Durant never resolved their issues, despite head coach Steve Nash, teammates, and others trying to step in to help mediate the situation, per Sports Illustrated.

Harden was eventually traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and the Nets received Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, and Andre Drummond in return.
