The drama surrounding Deebo Samuel has reached new heights, as the star wideout has asked San Francisco to trade him.

There’s been so much movement for the top wideouts in the game this offseason, but now it looks like Deebo Samuel is ready to find a new home as well. Rumors have swirled that Samuel is unhappy with San Francisco, but things just went to a new level.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Jeff Darlington revealed that he spoke with the disgruntled wide receiver and Samuel told him that he’s informed the 49ers that he wants to be traded.

Deebo Samuel demanding a trade has rocked the NFL world

This is the last thing 49ers fans wanted to see, but clearly the front office and Samuel haven’t been on the same page for a while now. There was fear that Samuel would try and leave the Bay Area earlier this offseason after he wiped his Instagram of 49ers stuff.

From that moment, trade rumors started flying. Now we know Samuel is ready to move and suit up elsewhere once the 2022 campaign arrives. This news comes with the NFL Draft right around the corner too.

Because of his versatility, Samuel has become one of the most dynamic offensive weapons in the game. There’s sure to be several teams lining up to try and land him, but he most definitely won’t come cheap.

It’s going to take multiple draft picks at minimum for the 49ers to even consider this. Teams like the Packers and Chiefs would make sense, but again, they’d have to pony up quite the offer. Stay tuned to see how things shape out, but it’s looking like Samuel has played his last down with San Francisco, which is wild to think about.
