Brittney Griner’s letter to Joe Biden is absolutely heartbreaking.

Imprisoned WNBA star Brittney Griner wrote a letter to President Joe Biden.

The saga continues and unfortunately, the latest update isn’t good.

WNBA star Brittney Griner continues to be held by Russian authorities over a drug charge stemming from her arrest at Moscow’s airport in February. Since then, she’s been seen sporadically in court hearings and is facing a devastating up to 10 years in a Russian prison for having cannabis oil in the country.

Now, in her first public statement since the arrest, she’d written a lengthy letter to President Joe Biden, begging for help.

” … as I sit here in a Russian prison, alone with my thoughts and without the protection of my wife, family, friends, Olympic jersey, or any accomplishments, I’m terrified I might be here forever.”

The entire letter has yet to be released but excerpts were given to the public on behalf of Griner.

“I realize you are dealing with so much, but please don’t forget about me and the other detainees,” she wrote. “Please do all you can to bring us home.”

The US government may be Griner’s only hope of escaping a jail sentence but it could be difficult considering Russia’s ongoing war with Ukraine, in which the US has taken sides with Ukraine.

Next. After months, WNBA fans finally see a glimpse of Brittney Griner in Russia. dark
