Romeo Doubs has been the toast of Packers training camp but he keeps showing signs in the preseason that he’s ready to break out as a rookie.

Anyone who has been even remotely keeping track of the Green Bay Packers training camp or preseason knows the name Romeo Doubs.

Though the former Nevada Wolf Pack star was taken two rounds after the team’s second-round selection, Christian Watson, it’s been Doubs who, aside from Aaron Rodgers’ disappointed father moment with the media, has been consistently drawing rave reviews. And it’s had many people thinking that the rookie could be a huge factor in an offense in need of pass-catchers to step up.

In the Packers’ first game of the preseason, Doubs came down with a touchdown that continued the hype train rolling. So how do you follow up the hype?

Packers: Romeo Doubs keeps looking the part of a breakout star

Well, Doubs found a way. In Friday night’s second preseason contest of the year for Green Bay, the Packers offense had found its way into the red zone against the Saints. That’s when Jordan Love looked the way of his young receiver and tossed it up.

Doubs didn’t just haul in the score — he Mossed his defender with relative ease, and then topped it off with a Lambeau Leap, further endearing himself to the fans in Wisconsin.

When it comes to camp and the preseason, there are always guys who reporters and others are over the moon about, but the track record of them actually working out, rookies in particular, isn’t all that great.

At this point, however, Doubs is leaving too many signs on the table for anyone to ignore. This kid might just be the goods. And if you need evidence, he’s left a trail of impressive breadcrumbs for you to follow so you aren’t surprised when he has a breakout rookie season.
