In the second installment of our 2022 NFL quarterback rankings, Patrick Mahomes showed up for the Kansas City Chiefs, putting forth an epic showing.

Our 2022 FanSided NFL quarterback rankings go live each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season, and we use a sliding scale incorporating current and past performances, with the former meaning more as the year goes on.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 30. Last Week: 31. New York Jets. Joe Flacco. 32

2022 stats: 307 yards | 62.7 comp % | 1 TD | 1 INT | 5.2 YPA | 15.4 QBR

We don’t need to waste time here. Start Mike White and hope for better results.

Last Week: NA. 31. player. Scouting Report. Cooper Rush. 123. Pick Analysis. Dallas Cowboys

2022 stats: 64 yards | 53.8 comp % | 0 TD | 0 INT | 4.9 YPA | 11.7 QBR

Dallas should be burning the phone lines to San Francisco. The Cowboys aren’t winning many games with Cooper Rush under center.

Pick Analysis. Cleveland Browns. 30. 53. Scouting Report. Last Week: 28. Jacoby Brissett. player

2022 stats: 147 yards | 52.9 comp % | 1 TD | 0 INT | 4.3 YPA | 38.1 QBR

Brissett threw for less than 150 yards, fewer than 4.5 yards per attempt, and the Browns somehow won.

player. 55. 29. Last Week: 29. Pittsburgh Steelers. Mitchell Trubisky. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

2022 stats: 194 yards | 55.3 comp % | 1 TD | 0 INT | 5.1 YPA | 48.0 QBR

Whenever you get five turnovers from the other team, an extra 10 minutes, and still manage only 16 offensive points, it’s not a good sign.

Last Week: 30. Marcus Mariota. 28. player. 44. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Atlanta Falcons

2022 stats: 215 yards | 60.6 comp % | 0 TD | 0 INT | 6.5 YPA | 57.9 QBR

Mariota did a nice job on Sunday, even if the Falcons went full-Falcons in the fourth quarter. A bright spot.

Pick Analysis. 36. Last Week: 32. Seattle Seahawks. Geno Smith. 27. player. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 195 yards | 82.1 comp % | 2 TD | 0 INT | 7.0 YPA | 69.1 QBR

Geno Smith! Smith was legitimately good against the Broncos in Seattle’s upset win. Nice accuracy, good velocity, well done.

San Francisco 49ers. 26. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 25. player. 42. Trey Lance

2022 stats: 164 yards | 46.4 comp % | 0 TD | 1 INT | 5.9 YPA | 43.0 QBR

It’s impossible to grade Lance based on Sunday. The 49ers and Bears essentially played football in a lake.

Last Week: 26. Chicago Bears. 57. Pick Analysis. Justin Fields. 25. player. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 121 yards | 47.1 comp % | 2 TD | 1 INT | 7.1 YPA | 42.1 QBR

See above. Good win for the Bears, and gritty performance from Fields who saved his best for the second half, but let’s see more.

Daniel Jones. 31. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 24. player. Last Week: 27. New York Giants

2022 stats: 188 yards | 81.0 comp % | 2 TD | 1 INT | 9.0 YPA | 25.8 QBR

Jones didn’t do anything special, but he helped keep the Giants in the game after trailing 13-0. Ultimately, he executed the plan.

Scouting Report. Last Week: 24. Detroit Lions. Jared Goff. 23. player. Pick Analysis. 50

2022 stats: 215 yards | 56.8 comp % | 2 TD | 1 INT | 5.8 YPA | 49.7 QBR

Goff got rolling late, but it wasn’t enough against the Eagles. The Lions need more downfield throws, which could come as the offensive line gets healthier.

Last Week: 19. Baker Mayfield. 22. 87. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Carolina Panthers. player

2022 stats: 235 yards | 59.3 comp % | 1 TD | 1 INT | 8.7 YPA | 37.2 QBR

The fourth quarter was awesome. The first three quarters were a disaster. Mayfield has to be more consistent this week in New York against the Giants.

52. Last Week: 20. 21. Trevor Lawrence. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Jacksonville Jaguars

2022 stats: 275 yards | 57.1 comp % | 1 TD | 1 INT | 6.5 YPA | 48.4 QBR

Too many missed throws, too many errors in process. Lawrence has all the physical tools, but he needs to apply them along with staying within structure.

20. player. 47. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 15. New England Patriots. Mac Jones. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 213 yards | 70.0 comp % | 1 TD | 1 INT | 7.1 YPA | 9.7 QBR

Jones and the Patriots’ offense would love to forget about the crapshow in Miami. Jones did little of note, save for a bad interception on the season’s first drive.

19. player. Scouting Report. Last Week: 23. Houston Texans. Davis Mills. Pick Analysis. 10

2022 stats: 240 yards | 62.2 comp % | 2 TD | 0 INT | 6.5 YPA | 46.3 QBR

Mills had a competent game, low-lighted by a fourth quarter and overtime. The second-year quarterback can play, though. No star potential, but a quality player.

Jameis Winston. 18. player. 15. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 21. New Orleans Saints

2022 stats: 269 yards | 67.6 comp % | 2 TD | 0 INT | 7.9 YPA | 53.3 QBR

Winston and the Saints didn’t bother to show up until the fourth quarter. Good news? That’s when Atlanta typically collapses.

Scouting Report. Last Week: 22. 17. player. 59. Pick Analysis. Miami Dolphins. Tua Tagovailoa

2022 stats: 270 yards | 69.7 comp % | 1 TD | 0 INT | 8.2 YPA | 78.2 QBR

Everyone wanted to see Tagovailoa, and the early returns were positive. The offense only scored 13 points, but the former Alabama star was accurate, took a few shots and played a well-rounded game.

Pick Analysis. Washington Commanders. Carson Wentz. player. 58. Scouting Report. Last Week: 18. 16

2022 stats: 313 yards | 65.9 comp % | 4 TD | 2 INT | 7.6 YPA | 46.2 QBR

Wentz has the unique ability to make you think he could reach the Pro Bowl but also get benched forever on the same drive. It’s quite a gift.

Last Week: 15. Tennessee Titans. Ryan Tannehill. 15. 35. Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 266 yards | 60.6 comp % | 2 TD | 0 INT | 8.1 YPA | 65.3 QBR

Tannehill did a nice job against the Giants, even if his efforts were thwarted by the defense and Randy Bullock in the final minutes. That said, Tennessee has no explosiveness.

player. 54. Pick Analysis. Philadelphia Eagles. Jalen Hurts. Last Week: 17. 14. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 243 yards | 56.3 comp % | 0 TD | 0 INT | 7.6 YPA | 64.3 QBR

The Eagles are banking on Hurts to be much better in the passing game, and it seems the addition of A.J. Brown will help that cause. Brown had a huge game, Hurts was largely efficient, and the Eagles tallied 38 points.

32. Kyler Murray. Last Week: 12. Arizona Cardinals. 13. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

2022 stats: 193 yards | 64.7 comp % | 2 TD | 0 INT | 5.7 YPA | 52.9 QBR

Murray had a rough day in the desert against the Chiefs. He was under constant pressure and failed to connect on a single meaningful throw in the 44-21 onslaught.

Pick Analysis. Last Week: 14. Kirk Cousins. 12. 60. Scouting Report. Minnesota Vikings. player

2022 stats: 277 yards | 71.9 comp % | 2 TD | 0 INT | 8.7 YPA | 80.7 QBR

Poised, under control and in command. Cousins had a terrific day against the Packers, finding Justin Jefferson wide open more than a few times. Great game for the Vikings’ offense.

Indianapolis Colts. Matt Ryan. player. 46. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 13. 11

2022 stats: 352 yards | 64.0 comp % | 1 TD | 1 INT | 7.0 YPA | 48.2 QBR

Ryan came alive like Frampton in the fourth quarter and even drove Indy towards a game-winning field goal, only to see it missed. Needs to eliminate the turnovers, though.

Scouting Report. Derek Carr. 28. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 11. Las Vegas Raiders. 10. player

2022 stats: 295 yards | 59.5 comp % | 2 TD | 3 INT | 8.0 YPA | 26.9 QBR

Love the Davante Adams connection with Carr, but the three interceptions were all on him. Too aggressive at times, and it cost Las Vegas dearly.

Russell Wilson. 9. 45. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Denver Broncos. player. Last Week: 8

2022 stats: 340 yards | 69.0 comp % | 1 TD | 0 INT | 8.1 YPA | 52.7 QBR

Wilson rode right to the bench so his head coach could attempt a 64-yard field goal. Not ideal. In total, Wilson was solid, although he got away with multiple throws which could have easily been intercepted.

Lamar Jackson. 8. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 10. Baltimore Ravens. player. 26. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 213 yards | 56.7 comp % | 3 TD | 1 INT | 7.1 YPA | 68.2 QBR

Jackson was fine in Week 1. Not a great day, not a bad one. Three touchdown tosses, including a bomb to Rashad Bateman. Now a big test against Miami’s secondary.

Scouting Report. Last Week: 7. Los Angeles Rams. Matthew Stafford. 51. Pick Analysis. 7. player

2022 stats: 240 yards | 70.7 comp % | 1 TD | 3 INT | 5.9 YPA | 23.6 QBR

Stafford was pressured all night behind Los Angeles’ leaky offensive line. However, even on the rare occasions he had time, it was ugly unless Cooper Krupp was on the other end. Needs serious work.

Pick Analysis. 6. Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow. player. 56. Scouting Report. Last Week: 6

2022 stats: 338 yards | 62.3 comp % | 2 TD | 4 INT | 6.4 YPA | 42.1 QBR

Burrow doesn’t slide, but this was the worst game of his career. Far too many mistakes, and some of the seven sacks were on him. The Bengals must block better, but Burrow has to be better as well.

Scouting Report. Aaron Rodgers. 5. player. 49. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 1. Green Bay Packers

2021 stats: 195 yards | 64.7 comp % | 0 TD | 1 INT | 5.7 YPA | 16.1 QBR

What was that? Blame the rookie receivers, blame the beat-up offensive line. Fine. Rodgers is a two-time reigning MVP and certainly didn’t look the part in Week 1.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 4. player. 48. Last Week: 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady

2022 stats: 212 yards | 66.7 comp % | 1 TD | 1 INT | 7.9 YPA | 53.4 QBR

Brady didn’t do much against the Cowboys, but also wasn’t asked for much, either. The Bucs’ defense was great, Brady didn’t make a huge mistake, and Tampa Bay won easily.

Los Angeles Chargers. 3. player. Scouting Report. Last Week: 5. Pick Analysis. Justin Herbert. 13

2022 stats: 279 yards | 76.5 comp % | 3 TD | 0 INT | 8.2 YPA | 84.8 QBR

Herbert belongs among the tops on this list. He was brilliant against the Raiders, making throws from the pocket, off-platform and off-schedule. Few have ever played the game and showcased more traits than Herbert.

Pick Analysis. Last Week: 3. Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen. 16. Scouting Report. 2. player

2022 stats: 297 yards | 83.9 comp % | 3 TD | 2 INT | 9.6 YPA | 91.2 QBR

Allen played a special game against the Rams, doing whatever he wanted to open the season. Buffalo’s offense is almost unstoppable, and Allen accounted for 353 total yards in the rout.

Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report. Last Week: 2. Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes. 1. 124

2022 stats: 360 yards | 76.9 comp % | 5 TD | 0 INT | 9.2 YPA | 94.1 QBR

Who else? Mahomes destroyed the Cardinals with an array of passes to nine different receivers. The Chiefs scored 44 points, Mahomes was close to perfect, and Kansas City scored an easy road win.
