Stephen A. Smith blasphemously proclaimed that LSU was not fond of Brian Kelly. After Alabama lost to LSU, the Tigers made the ESPN personality eat crow.

What’s wrong, Stephen A. Smith? Where’s your video celebrating Alabama? Weren’t you the one saying that LSU isn’t fond of Brian Kelly?

Indeed he did say that, and now, the very outspoken personality has gone silent. LSU’s 32-31 win over Alabama, combined with the emotion Kelly showed following the win, proves that the commentator’s take was nothing more than blasphemous. The LSU Football Twitter account seems to agree. They not only trolled Smith, but they also trolled College Gameday.

Don’t get it wrong. We know that Smith is a staunch Alabama supporter, and Smith will go so far as to defend them at every cost and make excuses for when things go wrong. After all, he did say multiple times this year that Alabama would “blow out” their opponents.

See Texas, which was a narrow escape. Texas A&M this year? The same thing, a wrong prediction despite a narrow victory. Tennessee? See the previous two, only this one was a loss on a field goal, and then Smith called out fellow personality Paul Finebaum for rocking with the Volunteers the next them they met on First Take, only to back off upon realizing that Finebaum was a Tennessee graduate, therefore validating Finebaum’s enjoyment in the upset.

LSU Football makes Stephen A. Smith eat crow after the Tigers’ upset over Alabama

This isn’t the first time Stephen A. has done something like this. Few in Baton Rouge will remember how Smith picked Alabama right before their bout in Tuscaloosa during the national championship season and said there was no way the Tigers would win. LSU, of course, did win thanks to Joe Burrow and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The national championship was the same story. After being pressured into picking Clemson due to his past of picking Alabama to beat Clemson (twice), Smith rolled with the orange tigers against LSU, and the Bayou Bengals did it again, much to the enjoyment of LSU alums Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark.

It’s easy to pick a winner, especially if that winner is Alabama. It’s also easy to puff your chest when the odds are seemingly stacked in your favor. But when it comes back to bite, you must be willing to take it, especially if you dished it. That’s what Stephen A. has to deal with, and the LSU Tigers are more than happy to dish out the crow.
