This Clayton Kershaw news should have Dodgers fans sighing in relief.

According to the Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers will have Clayton Kershaw for at least one more season.

“Clayton Kershaw and Dodgers nearing one-year deal, source tells @TheAthletic,” he tweeted.

This news is a relief to Dodgers fans who have secured their hopes on the star pitcher season after season. It hasn’t always been an easy time with Kershaw who tends to falter in the post-season but that doesn’t matter to fans who’d rather see Kershaw retire as a Dodger.

MLB Twitter reacts to the news that Claton Kershaw will remain with the Dodgers

“I’m not a dodgers fan but I never wanna see Kershaw in any other colors but the dodgers it’s so iconic,” someone tweeted.

“not surprised. Knew he was staying with LA,” another fan wrote.

Someone else said, “Yep, this makes sense, he will never leave the Dodgers.”

Some had thought he might leave for the Texas Rangers as he’d been vocal about his desire to play in his home state, but that doesn’t look to be the case. At least not for 2023.
