Japan takes on Croatia in the round of 16 at the World Cup on Monday, Dec. 5 at Al Janoub Stadium in Al-Wakrah, Qatar. Here’s how to watch.

Surprise side Japan hope to shock some more teams at the World Cup when they take on Croatia, runners up at the tournament four years ago, on Monday in the round of 16.

Japan won Group E, upsetting European powers Germany and Spain, during the group stage to set up this clash with Croatia, who finished runners up in Group F.

It is the first time in the team’s history that Japan has reached the knockout stage in back-to-back World Cups.

Japan, featuring a roster where the bulk of the players are based in Europe, are led by midfielders Wataru Endo and Daichi Kamada, who both play in the Bundesliga. Striker Takuma Asano spearheads the attack and is dangerous whenever he has the ball.

Croatia, meanwhile, are looking to embark on a deep run, like they did in 2018, and once again reach the final. The Croats are once again led by playmaker Luka Modric and feature a mix of veteran and young players.
