The Jacksonville Jaguars are hard-charging for the AFC South title, and in our NFL quarterback rankings, Trevor Lawrence is shooting up the board.

Our 2022 FanSided NFL quarterback rankings go live each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season, and we use a sliding scale incorporating current and past performances, with the former meaning more as the year goes on.

NFL quarterback rankings

Pick Analysis. Last Week: NA. 32. Scouting Report. Arizona Cardinals. Trace McSorley. 32. player

2022 stats: 166 yards | 66.3 comp % | 0 TD | 3 INT | 5.7 YPA | 13.6 QBR

Long ago, I was taught if have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything.

Last Week: NA. Brett Rypien. 31. 45. Pick Analysis. Denver Broncos. player. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 438 yards | 63.1 comp % | 2 TD | 3 INT | 5.5 YPA | 24.1 QBR

The Broncos are going to give the football back to Russell Wilson, and it’ll be hard to spot the difference.

Desmond Ridder. player. 44. Pick Analysis. Atlanta Falcons. 30. Scouting Report. Last Week: 32

2022 stats: 97 yards | 50.0 comp % | 0 TD | 0 INT | 3.7 YPA | 31.9 QBR

Ridder made his pro debut against the Saints; it was ugly. He easily could have had three interceptions.

Zach Wilson. 29. 30. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: NA. New York Jets. player

2022 stats: 1,596 yards | 54.9 comp % | 6 TD | 6 INT | 7.1 YPA | 42.4 QBR

Wilson is all about making a couple of terrific throws, and then backing them up with a couple of YOLO balls into good coverage. Wasn’t enough against Detroit.

26. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 31. Baltimore Ravens. Tyler Huntley. 28. player

2022 stats: 413 yards | 70.3 comp % | 0 TD | 2 INT | 5.6 YPA | 42.3 QBR

Huntley is a respectable backup quarterback, but the Ravens are sunk moving forward without Lamar Jackson coming back ASAP.

player. 10. Scouting Report. Last Week: 30. Davis Mills. Pick Analysis. Houston Texans. 27

2022 stats: 2,440 yards | 61.9 comp % | 13 TD | 12 INT | 6.5 YPA | 34.4 QBR

Mills didn’t throw for much yardage against the Chiefs, but he avoided interceptions and converted three times in the red zone.

Baker Mayfield. player. 51. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 29. Los Angeles Rams. 26

2022 stats: 1,654 yards | 58.4 comp % | 8 TD | 7 INT | 6.3 YPA | 23.2 QBR

Mayfield lost his magical touch in Green Bay, looking much more like the guy who is about to be a backup in 2023.

25. player. 87. Last Week: 27. Carolina Panthers. Sam Darnold. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

2022 stats: 509 yards | 59.1 comp % | 3 TD | 0 INT | 7.7 YPA | 47.2 QBR

If the Panthers are going to win the NFC South, Darnold will need to make some nice throws down the stretch. Not sure he can do it.

New England Patriots. Mac Jones. 24. Last Week: 21. 47. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player

2022 stats: 2,310 yards | 65.8 comp % | 7 TD | 8 INT | 6.9 YPA | 30.7 QBR

Hey, at least Jones wasn’t the worst Patriots player throwing a pass on Sunday.

Indianapolis Colts. 46. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. Last Week: 25. Matt Ryan. 23

2022 stats: 3,057 yards | 67.0 comp % | 14 TD | 13 INT | 6.6 YPA | 43.6 QBR

Ryan is a turnover machine, and now owns the distinction of blowing the biggest lead in Super Bowl history … and in regular-season history.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Brock Purdy. player. 42. Last Week: 26. San Francisco 49ers. 22

2022 stats: 678 yards | 66.7 comp % | 6 TD | 2 INT | 7.3 YPA | 67.9 QBR

Purdy isn’t making enormous plays, but he’s making all the ones he’s supposed to. Well done for the seventh-round rookie.

Last Week: 22. Kenny Pickett. player. 55. Pick Analysis. Pittsburgh Steelers. 21. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 1,797 yards | 65.0 comp % | 4 TD | 8 INT | 6.1 YPA | 45.2 QBR

Pickett will be back in action against the Raiders after missing last week. Nice opportunity to put up stats against a bad defense.

Pick Analysis. Taylor Heinicke. player. 58. Scouting Report. Washington Commanders. 20. Last Week: 19

2022 stats: 1,693 yards | 61.4 comp % | 10 TD | 5 INT | 7.0 YPA | 41.6 QBR

Two fumbles sank Heinicke. That, and some atrocious officiating. Washington still has a real chance at the postseason, though.

New York Giants. Daniel Jones. 19. player. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 20. 31. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 2,694 yards | 66.0 comp % | 12 TD | 4 INT | 6.6 YPA | 57.1 QBR

Jones has made enough plays with his legs and right arm to make a case he should keep his job for 2023. That said, the chunk yardage is still severely lacking.

Last Week: 17. Cleveland Browns. Deshaun Watson. player. Scouting Report. 53. Pick Analysis. 18

2022 stats: 568 yards | 60.9 comp % | 2 TD | 2 INT | 6.2 YPA | 44.6 QBR

Three games into his Cleveland career, Watson has been a rusty hinge. He needs to get much better. Perhaps it will come with time.

35. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 16. Tennessee Titans. Ryan Tannehill. 17. player. Scouting Report

2022 stats: 2,536 yards | 65.2 comp % | 13 TD | 6 INT | 7.8 YPA | 49.9 QBR

Tannehill wasn’t exactly elite against the Chargers, but kudos to Tannehill for showing serious toughness after being carted off.

Pick Analysis. New Orleans Saints. 16. player. 15. Scouting Report. Last Week: 18. Andy Dalton

2022 stats: 2,403 yards | 66.8 comp % | 17 TD | 7 INT | 7.6 YPA | 53.5 QBR

Dalton has quietly played pretty well for the Saints this season. He’s been a decently bright spot in an ugly year.

Scouting Report. Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers. player. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 15. 15. 49

2022 stats: 3,093 yards | 64.9 comp % | 23 TD | 10 INT | 6.8 YPA | 40.8 QBR

Rodgers had a ho-hum evening in a ho-hum win over the Rams. Now, another must-win, this time against the Dolphins in Miami on Christmas.

Last Week: 13. 14. 48. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady. player

2022 stats: 3,897 yards | 66.0 comp % | 20 TD | 7 INT | 6.3 YPA | 50.5 QBR

Brady had a great first half and then followed it up by falling apart in the second half with two interceptions. Not pretty.

Pick Analysis. Las Vegas Raiders. 13. player. 28. Scouting Report. Last Week: 12. Derek Carr

2022 stats: 3,348 yards | 61.2 comp % | 23 TD | 11 INT | 7.1 YPA | 58.4 QBR

Carr had a middling game, helped out by a ridiculous call on the Keelan Cole touchdown in the fourth quarter. All told, a somewhat disappointing campaign.

player. Scouting Report. Last Week: 14. 12. 60. Pick Analysis. Minnesota Vikings. Kirk Cousins

2022 stats: 3,818 yards | 65.3 comp % | 24 TD | 11 INT | 7.0 YPA | 51.6 QBR

Cousins mirrored the Vikings on Saturday. Horrible in the first half, transcendent in the second. Biggest comeback in NFL history, and Cousins was at the heart of it.

Last Week: 8. 11. player. 123. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott

2022 stats: 2,103 yards | 68.0 comp % | 17 TD | 11 INT | 7.5 YPA | 54.8 QBR

Prescott had to fall after losing a 17-point lead to the Jaguars. Dallas needed its star quarterback to play like one, and he didn’t.

10. player. Chicago Bears. Justin Fields. 57. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 11

2022 stats: 2,048 yards | 62.0 comp % | 15 TD | 10 INT | 7.5 YPA | 56.2 QBR

If and when the Bears surround Fields with any offensive talent, he’s going to be unbelievable. Nobody is more dynamic from a physical standpoint.

Miami Dolphins. Tua Tagovailoa. player. 59. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 7. 9

2022 stats: 3,238 yards | 64.8 comp % | 24 TD | 5 INT | 8.6 YPA | 71.8 QBR

The Dolphins lost in Buffalo, but Tagovailoa and Co. showed they can hang in bad weather against an elite team. As for Tagovailoa himself, he made a few big-time throws, but also made some poor decisions.

Pick Analysis. Last Week: 9. Detroit Lions. 50. Scouting Report. Jared Goff. 8. player

2022 stats: 3,604 yards | 64.9 comp % | 23 TD | 7 INT | 7.5 YPA | 62.5 QBR

Goff has been awesome for the Lions this year. He’s not going to get people excited with his style, but few quarterbacks have been more efficient than the former No. 1 overall pick this year.

Pick Analysis. Last Week: 10. 52. Scouting Report. Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence. 7. player

2022 stats: 3,520 yards | 66.0 comp % | 24 TD | 7 INT | 7.0 YPA | 56.8 QBR

Lawrence is quickly becoming one of the elite quarterbacks. Trailing 27-10, Lawrence torched a terrific Dallas defense, helping Jacksonville win 40-34 in overtime behind four touchdown passes.

Scouting Report. Last Week: 6. Seattle Seahawks. player. Pick Analysis. Geno Smith. 6. 36

2022 stats: 3,671 yards | 71.4 comp % | 26 TD | 8 INT | 7.8 YPA | 63.9 QBR

Seattle is falling apart, but don’t blame Smith. He’s still playing quality football. The problem is nobody else can do anything right for the Seahawks over the last month.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 5. Los Angeles Chargers. Justin Herbert. player. 13. 5

2022 stats: 4,019 yards | 67.5 comp % | 21 TD | 9 INT | 6.8 YPA | 57.2 QBR

Herbert appears to finally be heading for the playoffs, which will create a take vortex on Twitter that will swallow up the world and save us from ourselves.

Pick Analysis. 4. 16. Scouting Report. Last Week: 4. Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen. player

2022 stats: 3,857 yards | 63.7 comp % | 30 TD | 11 INT | 7.6 YPA | 71.7 QBR

Allen was brilliant against the Dolphins on a snowy Saturday night in Buffalo, largely putting the Bills on his back to win a key divisional game.

54. 3. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: 2. Philadelphia Eagles. Jalen Hurts

2022 stats: 3,472 yards | 67.3 comp % | 22 TD | 5 INT | 8.2 YPA | 68.7 QBR

Hurts threw two picks but also ran in three touchdowns, helping Philadelphia sneak out of Chicago with a win. Now, dealing with a sprained shoulder, Hurts would be wise to sit for a week or two, even at the cost of an MVP award.

2. 56. Pick Analysis. Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow. player. Scouting Report. Last Week: 3

2022 stats: 3,885 yards | 68.2 comp % | 31 TD | 10 INT | 7.6 YPA | 59.3 QBR

The Bengals might be the top team in football right now, and Burrow is playing some of the best ball we’ve seen from him. Truly dominant both mentally and from an execution standpoint.

Last Week: 1. Patrick Mahomes. player. 1. 124. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Kansas City Chiefs

2022 stats: 4,496 yards | 67.4 comp % | 35 TD | 11 INT | 8.1 YPA | 79.8 QBR

There’s been argument about it, but Mahomes is the clear MVP. Best in yards, touchdowns and QBR. Also, he just went 36-of-41 with 20 straight completions on Sunday.
