The Green Bay Packers are in the midst of what could be an improbable run back to the NFC playoffs. Aaron Rodgers won his third game in a row over the Dolphins.

Christmas went according to plan for No. 12, who instead of spending time at home with those he loves most, went on the road to Miami in a critical test against the Dolphins.

Aaron Rodgers needed to be the Rodgers of old these last few weeks if Green Bay were to make a postseason run. Not only that, but the Packers have needed plenty of help. Yet, just three weeks later, and their path to the playoffs looks far more reasonable.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers take down the Dolphins

Aaron Rodgers, despite a tough start, finished the game 24-of-38 passing for 238 yards and a touchdown. While those numbers don’t jump off the page, it was enough to take advantage of some untimely Miami Dolphins turnovers.

Three straight Tua Tagovailoa interceptions in the third and fourth quarters sealed the Dolphins fate, and it’s easy to blame the Alabama product alone for his failure to come up large in a big moment. However, Green Bay’s defense does deserve some credit for rising to the opportunity.

How the Green Bay Packers can make the playoffs

With just two weeks remaining on the regular-season slate, Green Bay still has a chance to make the postseason. Week 16 helped out plenty, with much of their competition for the final playoff spots losing. The Packers took advantage of their opportunity, defeating the Dolphins 26-20 on the road.

Here’s what needs to happen for Green Bay to make the playoffs:

  1. Green Bay Packers need to win out
  2. Washington Commanders must lose one of final two games OR New York Giants must lose out

There’s a very good chance that Week 18’s contest between Green Bay and the Detroit Lions could decide a playoff spot.

The smart money is on No. 12.
