Oscar de La Hoya was on The DAZN Boxing Show with Ak & Barak to give updates on Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis vs. Ryan Garcia along with his new six-pack.

The internet, along with social media, is a fascinating world, and various content gets posted, which either goes viral or is a discussion topic within the sport. Boxing Hall of Famer, Chairman & CEO of Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya made news in December when he posted a picture on Instagram shirtless, which sparked conversation around the boxing world.

Since being out of the sport, De La Hoya wasn’t exactly in fight shape but kept himself in decent physical shape, so when the picture popped up, there were plenty of trolls on the internet who deemed the new look as a surgical procedure than something he did over time with a workout routine and diet. Of course, De La Hoya fed into the trolling, and it pushed him to post more pictures while pushing the ‘no shirts 2023’ campaign. While he appeared in a few public places since the initial photo with media on hand, no one seemed to address the ‘elephant in the room,’ so to speak, until just recently.

On the DAZN Boxing Show, which is hosted by Ak & Barak, the question was posed to De La Hoya about his chiseled frame.

De La Hoya laughed and said, “They are obviously my abs, but I have this amazing doctor who does this sculpting and etching of the abs. It’s kind of like lipo but etching. De La Hoya continued, “You still have to eat right and work out. It’s just a little push for me to get motivated and stay on top of my game. Fifty hasn’t looked this good in a long time (laughs). “ So there was some truth to what was being said on the internet, but it wasn’t an implant like most implied.

Oscar De La Hoya has been more active on Twitter to add fuel to the fire for those that decide to troll him.

Moving onto more important things like the mega fight between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, De La Hoya wasn’t ready to tell everyone to book their hotels for April 15 but did give an update on where they stand regarding the negotiations.

De La Hoya said, “We have the contract in our possession. It’s a long-form and very detailed. We are just going to have to cross the t’s and dot the i’s. That’s basically it. Can I confirm? Obviously not until it’s official.” There you have it. If you book anything for April 15, ensure you have insurance for your trip, as this fight has the potential of moving dates.
