Here are the latest rumors surrounding the New York Jets’ quarterback position in 2023.

More so than any other NFL team, the New York Jets were left with their mouths wide open after the 2022 season wondering what could have been.

After a strong start to the year, the Jets ended up missing the playoffs, extending their 12-year postseason drought and heavily disappointing their fanbase once more.

New York produced two rookies of the year in wideout Garrett Wilson and cornerback Sauce Gardner and boast an insanely young and talented squad, yet their attention this offseason will no doubt be centered on the quarterback position for 2023 and beyond.

Zach Wilson may not be the future. Mike White definitely is not the future. As the Jets continue their search for a reliable signal-caller, they have the following options to choose from.

Jets trade rumors: Aaron Rodgers is still a huge looming question mark

What revelations will Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers have about his future after his hippie retreat? No one knows for sure.

But Rodgers remains the hottest topic in the quarterback conversation, and his ongoing trade speculation has connected him at least in some capacity to the Jets franchise.

Earlier this offseason, it seemed like Rodgers and Green Bay were headed for a fallout. Since then, the two sides have appeared to make nice and may be on the same page regarding a future trade per recent reports.

The Jets remain a frontrunner in the Rodgers sweepstakes given their high upside and willingness to trade picks. After hiring Rodgers’ old friend, Nathaniel Hackett, as the team’s next offensive coordinator, the Jets’ chances to land Rodgers remain especially high this offseason.

Jets trade rumors: Derek Carr, Lamar Jackson, and others are still on the radar

Aside from Rodgers, other quarterbacks who have been connected to the Jets include Las Vegas Raiders’ Derek Carr and Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson.

Carr has been more recently rumored to join the New Orleans Saints after visiting them last week, but the upshot of that whole sticky situation is that Carr and the Raiders are not on good terms. If Carr forces himself out of Las Vegas and enters free agency, he’ll be a highly desired commodity. New York won’t hesitate one bit to grab him.

The Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson is in the middle of contract negotiations with Baltimore, though a new report suggests the franchise may be more open to trading Jackson than previously thought. Expect the Jets to be one of a few teams ready to go all-in on Jackson if the two sides can’t agree to a new deal.
