Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57 on Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs are once again Super Bowl champions. On Sunday, Feb. 12, the Chiefs overcame a 24-14 deficit to the Philadelphia Eagles at halftime to pick up the 38-35 victory. With this, the Chiefs are set to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the third time in franchise history.

After the game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce were interviewed by FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews. Let’s just say that both were pumped about the win, especially Kelce.

“Not one of y’all said the Chiefs were going to take it home this year! Not a single one! Feel that s***! Feel it,” Kelce said.

Mahomes was asked what it was like to hear the talk heading into the season about the Chiefs not being competitive due to trading away Tyreek Hill, the emergence of other quarterbacks in the league, and now he won the NFL MVP and the Super Bowl for the second time.

“I told you all before the season, we’ve got coach Andy Reid, we’ve got guys like Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, Frank Clark, we’re going to be the Kansas City Chiefs,” said Mahomes. “At the end of the day, we’re going to be the Kansas City Chiefs, and we’re going to celebrate this right here.”

In the first half, the Chiefs offense had possession for a little over eight minutes, compared to the Eagles’ near 22 minutes. The fanbase did suffer a scare when Mahomes came off the field at State Farm Stadium limping after getting tackled and tweaking this ankle. This was the very ankle that he injured back in the Divisional Round against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yet, he returned for the second half, and the Chiefs came to life.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to points on all four of their offensive drives in the second half, three touchdowns, one field goal.

Two of those touchdowns were passes from Mahomes, with one going to Kadarius Toney and the other going to Skyy Moore. Most importantly, Mahomes and the Chiefs killed over five minutes on their final drive, culminating in a game-winning 27-yard field goal by Harrison Butker.

That left just eight-seconds on the clock for the Eagles.

After completing 21-of-27 pass attempts for 182 yards and three touchdowns, while running for 44 yards on six carries, Mahomes was named Super Bowl 57 MVP.

Kelce scored the first touchdown for the Chiefs on their opening drive. Overall, Kelce caught all six of his targets for 81 yards and a touchdown.

After the 2022 season, Mahomes and Kelce are two-time Super Bowl champions.
