Cameron Jordan knows as well as anyone that the Saints need a quarterback and he’s working to recruit one this offseason: Derek Carr.

A social media hiatus lasted roughly 24 hours for New Orleans Saints star edge rusher Cameron Jordan. Sometimes, though, things just happen and you have to make your voice heard. For Jordan, that transpired on Tuesday.

When the Las Vegas Raiders officially released veteran quarterback Derek Carr on Tuesday after being unable to work out a trade, the recent reports that, though the Saints and the QB were unable to move forward towards making a trade happen that they could still sign him upon his release, felt relevant.

Jordan seemed to think so too. So he got to recruiting on social media with a series of tweets that were, frankly, hilarious but also made it clear that the longtime Saint wants to get Carr to New Orleans to answer the problem at quarterback.

Saints news: Cameron Jordan recruiting Derek Carr to New Orleans

Jordan’s plan for the entire Saints 2023 offseason might be a bit pie in the sky, though.

Having said that, the Carr part of the equation is not. The fact that he took a meeting to try and see if a trade was viable was contingent upon his interest in New Orleans. So that’s a point in the Saints’ favor, as are the aforementioned reports that they’re still in the running.

What’s more, the Saints should be highly motivated to go after a veteran quarterback who can still perform at a relatively high level given their current roster construction. Jordan headlines a solid-to-good defense and the offense is only missing a functional signal-caller. It seems like an ideal landing spot for Carr.

There are expected to be more contenders to sign Carr this offseason, but New Orleans is very much in the running, which should make Jordan happy. Plus, Carr does look pretty natural in Jordan’s photoshop.
