According to Michael Scotto of HoopHype, the floor for any New York Knicks extension with guard Immanuel Quickley is around $20 million per season. This number has been thrown around the league as something that could be in play if he does get into extension talks with New York before the season.

Of course, if talks don’t get underway and Quickley performs well in the 2023-24 season, that number could also grow.

The Knicks have a roster full of solid players. Jalen Brunson played his way into the All-NBA discussion for next season with his performance during the playoffs, taking it to an extra level in the postseason. If Brunson is able to sustain that level of play, the Knicks are truly just one All-NBA type of player away from contending for a championship.

Will Immanuel Quickley remain with Knicks for the long-term future?

When New York traded Obi Toppin, it could be said that the franchise made a decision between the two young players. Due to the fact New York doesn’t really have a spot to give Toppin minutes, he was the more sensible option to move.

Quickley is a young player with whom the Knicks can trade for a star as part of a package. After already paying Brunson and R.J. Barrett, keeping Quickley in any case would be difficult. However, the $20 million annual value of an extension could make him a contract to match salary in a big-name trade.
