Former Chicago Bears wide receiver David Terrell recent said that he was not a bust, despite that being a tag that is applied to him, but instead that he had no quarterback who was capable of getting him the ball. So it should come as no surprise that Terrell was praising Jay Cutler, who is the best quarterback the Bears have seen in quite some time, during an interview with local Chicago publication, RedEye.

To give you an idea of just how bad the quarterbacks Terrell played for were, he suggested that he would have himself neutered for the chance to play with a guy like Cutler.

I would have cut off both my balls,” Terrell said. “I’d give those up, no problem. You could have neutered me. I woulda been neutered with a smile. (Expletive), man, for real.

“Jay Cutler is without a doubt a top 10 quarterback in the league. No doubt about that. His knowledge of the game, his pocket presence makes him that. I never witnessed that in the NFL.”

Terrell was joking with his comments, we hope, but it does go to show how much blown opportunities stick with athletes moving forward. Terrell was expected to be an impact player for the Bears after being a standout at Michigan, but he never lived up to the hype and that landed him on a list of all-time Bears busts.

His recent comments show there is still some frustration from his time with Chicago, but at least he has his manhood to take with him moving forward.
