Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith likes to consider himself a pretty big baseball fan. He even played baseball during his younger days, though, seemingly has forgotten how to slide.

As Smith was breaking off a run on third down, he was greeted by an opposing Cleveland Browns defender who had full intent to knock the block off Smith.

Knowing this, Smith decided he’d slide to avoid the tackle – which to his credit, he did. Unfortunately, he’s probably going to wake up with a pretty sore posterior tomorrow morning giving his, uh, ‘sliding’ technique.

As Smith got close to the Browns defender, he simply rose both feet off the ground and literally slammed himself into the Arrowhead grass.

On the plus side, I guess Smith didn’t have to worry about getting a spike caught in the turf, though, his pride will probably argue that would have been better.

Undefeated or not, Mr. Smith may want to spend some time in the offseason working on his slides.
