The Pittsburgh Steelers rose a few eyebrows when they let Emmanuel Sanders go earlier this month, but another man’s junk could potentially be another man’s treasure.

That’s the thought of Detroit Lions insider Tim Twentyman who believes Sanders could be a fit in Motown.

"I think a guy like Emmauel Sanders fits. @JimmerFrat: @ttwentyman you think it’s essential get 1 of these WRs in FA? Who is your #1 target?"

Few guys are more plugged in to the Lions beat than Twentyman, so the suggestion needs to be taken with more than just a grain of salt.

With Nate Burleson no longer on the roster, the Lions will obviously be looking at somebody to compliment Calvin Johnson and Sanders does seem like an obvious fit.

It’s also possible the Lions could opt to use their first round draft pick on a wide receiver or could look elsewhere if Sanders proves to be too costly.

Both the New York Jets and New England Patriots have already been linked to possible interest in Sanders.
