Sorry teams looking for a backup quarterback, Curtis Painter is off the market.

The veteran was set to hit the open market but according to Mike Garafolo, Painter will re-sign with the Giants once the league begins its new year.

"QB Curtis Painter will re-sign with the Giants after the start of the league year."

Somewhere I’m sure Eli Manning‘s boots aren’t shaking.

Painter became somewhat of a mini-cult hero last season with Manning being so awful and it did lead to the former sixth round pick actually seeing some game action.

The Indiana native played in three games this past season for the Giants, though, only attempted 16 passes – completing 8 of them.

Painter is most famous for his backing up of the Manning brothers as before Painter joined the Giants to back up Eli, he was behind Peyton Manning as a member of the Indianapolis Colts for a few seasons.

Needless to say, there’s a reason he hasn’t seen the field much in his career despite having a somewhat known name.
