When Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice first addressed the media following the assault of his then-fiancee Janay Palmer in an Atlantic City hotel lobby, he had a number of his teammates there standing in support of Rice.

Now that video from inside of the elevator has surfaced, that appears to be changing.

Everyone has been disgusted by the video of Rice knocking Palmer unconscious, and Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report is reporting that the new evidence has led to a loss of support in the team’s locker room.

I don’t think he has very much support now at all,” the player texted. “I think it’s gone.”

Freeman went on to say that the player indicated Rice had told the team he was defending himself — which is obviously a complete lie after seeing the video.

You have to also wonder whether or not Rice used the “self defense” claim when explaining what happened to the NFL and Ravens organization.

It is stunning that we have yet to hear from the Ravens since the video surfaced, but they are set to address the media later today. We will just have to wait and see if they decided to do what is right and release Rice from the team.
