A new technological advancement is being proposed by UK-based Centre for Process Innovation, and it comes in the form of a windowless plane.
For those squeamish about sitting next to the window seat, nothing about this plane would be for you. However, it appears that a UK-based technology company has plans to develop exactly that, a plane made out of windows. Imagine each surface showing off a glance into the heavens beyond.

Centre for Process Innovation is behind the new plane, and their plans could become a reality in less than a decade. Removing the blockage of view from the plane would instead lend the aircraft to be comprised of high-definition, flexible screens to show off everything outside of the plane.
Windows, by definition, would not be present for the passengers of the plane. The see through high-definition screens would act simply as walls.
At this point, it sounds as if CPI believes they could complete a windowless plane in less than 10 years.
The walls wouldn’t be completely see through as the imaging would come from cameras. Mounted cameras outside of the plane would provide full panoramic images for passengers, making wings and the engines not obstruct views. Depending on preference, passengers would be able to set their screens to the images directly around them, or another part of the aircraft completely.
CPI release a video showing off the technology as well.
I guess I’m not quite sure what to think. Currently, I love the idea of sitting by the window in an airplane, but seeing images of the world around me at every glance, that might be a bit more than I’d like to bite off. The illusion of height is taken out of a plane to a certain extent, in it’s present form. The new technology would bring that back into focus in a big way.
What are your thoughts? Would you be all for jumping on a windowless plane?
