Sol Republic Punk Review: Mic Dropped

Sol Republic developed the Punk to be a portable bluetooth speaker with the technology of the big heavy hitters, and they hit a home run.

In today’s world, music fuels people in many different ways. With that in mind, the technology market has evolved to produce new was to make music portable. Bluetooth speakers have become and expanding category in the marketplace, and much like headphones, options are offered at all sorts of price ranges. None may be better than the Punk from Sol Republic.

All things considered, the Punk truly separates itself from the competition. Breaking the portable bluetooth speaker down, it becomes easy to see why Sol Republic has such a winner with the Punk.

First off, right out of the box the Punk has a wow factor. In it’s simplicity, set up is extremely easy, but the design remains sleek. All buttons are hidden underneath the outer covering of the speaker, leaving wires and cords non existent. The bold color options are also an eye-catcher. A quick charge has you ready to use the Punk, either through an AV cable or bluetooth connection, in minutes.

Despite the Punk’s small stature, don’t be confused, the small speaker packs a punch and delivers across the sound spectrum.

Sound quality from the Punk is top notch. At $69.99, the Punk compares very closely to the Beats Pill. While an offering from Bose may bring a bit more sound clarity, the price will undoubtedly quadruple as well. Although the Pill is a significantly pricier option, the Punk has it rivaled in nearly every sound category.

Bass is delivered at a booming rate, while the highs and lows of the spectrum are also hit to perfection. Despite the Punk’s small stature, don’t be confused, the small speaker packs a punch and delivers across the sound spectrum.

As far as portability, none of the other options on the market come close. Devices like those from Bose and Beats are much larger and require more thought in transportation. Smaller options exist, but typically are making users sacrifice sound quality and clarity in doing so. The Punk combines an easily portable size with an excellent output to create an unparalleled experience.

Checking in just under $70, you will be hard pressed to find a bluetooth speaker offering on-the-go portability, with top-notch sound quality. The Sol Republic Punk does it all.
