Ronaldo hits boy with ball, gives him the shirt off his back
By Tim Mack
Cristiano Ronaldo accidentally hit a child with a soccer ball while warming up for a game. To amend the situation he gave the boy the jersey he was wearing.
Cristiano Ronaldo was warming up for Real Madrid’s game against Atlético Madrid when a stray practice shot struck a young fan. Medical services quickly rushed to the boy’s aid, who was visibly upset and hurt.
In the video of the incident it is apparent that Ronaldo is upset by what has happened. He winces after he kicks the ball and knows something is wrong. Shortly after when the team runs to the locker room Ronaldo runs back toward the young fan. He then takes off his jersey and gives it the small crying boy.
This is a class act by Ronaldo. Accidents happen and when they do it is important to make amends for them. Ronaldo did exactly that. He certainly did not mean to hit the kid but when he did he handled the situation the best way he could.

This is not the first time Ronaldo has given his jersey away. In a 2011 game against Getafe a wild kick by Ronaldo hit a fan in the face and broke his nose. He took off his jersey mid-game and trotted over to the sideline to deliver the game-worn shirt personally. however, once he made his way to the sideline, Ronaldo was handed a non-game worn jersey and was instructed to give the injured man that one. A shirtless Ronaldo then paused for a kodak moment with the injured fan and the game continued.
It is always heart-warming to see players reaching out to their fans in such a personal way. Fans pay good money to see their sport heroes and when an athlete acknowledges their existence it can really make a fan’s day. Ronaldo definitely deserves a pat on the back for his fan interactions in both scenarios. Good on him for taking the time out of competitive moments to have a heart.
