Dynasty League Top 50 Quarterbacks

I ranked the top-50 Quarterbacks for dynasty leagues to give owners a gauge for start-up drafts and trades. If you like a quarterback a lot more than I do then go ahead and bump him up a few spots in your rankings. I’m a big advocate of getting your guy in drafts and trades. Obviously don’t go drafting Blake Bortles ahead of Andrew Luck, but select Joe Flacco over Phillip Rivers if you like him more.

Players to Highlight in the Rankings

Peyton Manning DEN: Manning is 39 years old, and his longevity is the reason why he is ranked so low. Even is Manning is the best QB in fantasy this season, your team will be left holding the bag if he retires. There’s a good possibility that he retires after this season, and dynasty is about fostering a team that can compete for multiple years down the road. Drafting or trading for a player with a short shelf life isn’t optimal for dynasty.

Derek Carr OAK: I have Derek Carr at 10, because he was highly efficient as a rookie last year. Last year he passed for 21 TDs while only throwing 12 INTs, which is really good for a rookie. Carr should improve going forward as he develops. Oakland is committed to building around him by drafting WR Amari Cooper in the 1st round of this year’s draft and picking up WR Michael Crabtree in free agency.

Ryan Tannehill MIA: I’m a huge Tannehill fan. Tannehill finished the year as QB 9 on the season for ESPN standard scoring, and he still has a lot of room for development. Tannehill has a very high floor, last season he only had 1 game where he scored less than 10 fantasy points. He is not going to lose you games, and that’s valuable.
